On the far side of the house, visible from the street but not the party, we put up our latest version of a graveyard, the only decoration we've consistently created for every party. This one had old wooden fence posts, plenty of dead leaves, and the head and torso of a zombie crawling out of one of the graves.
The actual entrance to the party was a vine-covered archway with the sign "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here" and a winged skeleton lit with a strobe light overhead.
